I am James Earl Turner and I was a candidate for Mena Mayor in the November 2010 Municipal election.  I served two terms on the Mena City Council Ward 1, position 2.

The truth is, I love Mena, Polk County, and Western Arkansas and I want to do all I can to help our citizens work together to make Mena an even better place to live, work, raise a family and retire.  We have some of the greatest most talented, inventive, hardest working people in the world living in our area, they are our biggest asset.  It takes great people to make a great city.

It takes teamwork and unity, working towards common goals, for a community to prosper and grow economically, culturally, and in quality of living.  I want to lead that team.

 I believe that the Mena Regional Health System, the Mena Public Schools, and Rich Mountain Community College are essential to bringing better paying jobs to Mena and Polk County.  I am convinced that it is important to work with our sister communities in the county, the county leaders, and the West-Central Arkansas Region to achieve economic goals.  Leadership, community pride, education, and teamwork are keys to helping Mena and our region reach its true potential.

I believe in Mena and I believe in its future.
